the case with stepped chamfered top above ripple moulded cornice, foliate brass inlay to the front with chamfered sides applied with brass strips, with gadrooned border to the base, on bun feet, cornucopiae ring handles to the sides (one damagged), the white painted Roman dial signed PURVIS North Audley St London, the single chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, leaf engraved border to the backplate with repeat signature, conforming decoration to the pendulum, with holdfast (lacking screw), some losses to mouldings and veneer -- 11½in.(29cm.) high
