the waisted bulbous case with foliate mounts and fluted cylindrical pediment surmounted by a finial of nesting doves, ring handles to the sides, the break front base with mount of two cockerels feeding, on toupie feet, the backplate stamped for CHARPENTIER PARIS, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell -- 12½in.(32cm.) high; and the pair of twin-light side candelabra en suite, the foliate branches with leaf drip-pans issuing from part-fluted stems with grape cluster finials; French, last quarter 19th century
