Eugène-Louis Sieffert was a Parisian porcelain painter who displayed at the French Salons throughout the late 19th century. He is recorded at the Sèvres factory from 1881-87 and in England at Coalport and Brown-Westhead Moore from 1887-94 before returning to Sèvres 1894-98. For a large pair of Japonisme vases painted by him see Sotheby's, New York, 14 April 2008, lot 187 ($97,000).
