The compressed body is raised on three conical supports, and decorated around the sides with eight large lotus blossoms alternating with buds borne on scrolling leafy tendrils below a ruyi-head border. The base is inset with a rectangular plaque incised fang Ming (in imitation of Ming), surrounded by three further lotus blossoms and smaller flower heads. The pair of gilt-bronze handles are formed by the arched backs of chilong that grasp the everted rim.
