The bodhisattva Avalokitesvara is shown seated in padmasana holding a stem in the raised right hand and a cup in the left hand. The broad face is cast with a gentle expression below the openwork five-point crown in which each section is centered by a figure of Amitabha Buddha, and which surrounds the topknot.
