TANG DYNASTY (618-907)
The lokapala is shown standing on a rockwork base with right hand raised to hold a weapon and left hand raised with palm held outwards in warning. The unglazed face is modeled with fierce, scowling expression. He is arrayed in cord-tied armor with dragon-head epaulets splashed in green, amber and straw glazes, worn over a long straw-glazed robe.
