'I do use the invented frameworks as a means to visualize situations and subjects. But I have a real interest in these frameworks. They are not just flights of fancy and their primary function is not simply to generate subject matter. If I want to paint something, I paint it. The situations to me are logical, and usually start with a question-what would this be like or what would that look like'.
