Rectangular marble box with reeded silver mounts and scroll thumbpiece, the cover centred with an applied octagonal silver plaque chased with a coat-of-arms, the inner side rims of the base mount engraved with an inscription which reads 'The Freedom of the Borough of Plymouth To the Rt. Hon. Geo, Canning Secretary of State For Foreign Affairs. Cap. Lockyer R.N.CB Mayor 1823
