Each oblong with gadrooned border, the covers with detachable leaf-capped reeded branch handles, engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked on each dish, cover and handle

The arms are those of Penrice, possibly for Thomas Penrice (d.1816) of Yarmouth, co. Norfolk. (4)

Thomas Penrice (1789-1846) who purchased in 1820 Kilvrough, co. Glamorgan and by descent to his nephew
Thomas Penrice (1820-1897) and by descent to his daughter
Louisa Jane, who married Rear-Admiral Algernon McLellan Lyons (d.1908) and by descent to his fourth son
Commander Algernon Edmund Penrice-Lyons, D.S.O., R.N. (1886-1969) who assumed the additional surname of Penrice by deed poll in 1922.
