2 works in 1 volume, 8° (198 x 122mm). The first work with 22 engraved plates and ten tables; the second with 6 engraved plates. Contemporary green morocco, sides with a broad architectural border in blind and gilt, upper side titled in gilt, pink coated endpapers, gilt edges (rebacked preserving the original spine, light wear). Provenance: ?Nicholas I of Russia (pencilled shelf-mark of the Winter Palace) -- unidentified blindstamp with the motto 'Je Maintiendrai' -- 'Printed in Russia' (small import stamp) -- Paul M. Fekula (sold, Christie's, New York, 08 June 1994, part lot 131).
PROBABLY NICHOLAS I'S COPY AT THE WINTER PALACE, later in the Fekula collection, in a distinctive period binding. Two works of drills, orders and regulations, illustrated with plates, for the use of artillery regiments. Fekula 2161 (this copy).
