The vase is colourfully decorated around the exterior with a vibrant continuous scene of boys at play within a grassy courtyard, between bands of leafy lotus scrolls on a yellow ground. Some boys are depicted carrying large fruits, halberds, and various precious objects. The interior of the mouthrim is decorated with a blue floral ruyi-head band. There is an apocryphal Jiaqing iron-red six-character seal mark to the base.
