Africa XXV nova tabula. [Basel: S. Munster, 1545]. Double-page woodcut map, with '53' at bottom of text on verso, 310 x 372mm. First published in 1540, this was the first widely disseminated map to show the entire continent. The same woodcut was used in all editions of the Geographia and Cosmographia. Variant 5.
