The case of typical form, the arched hood surmounted by giltwood figural finials, the door lenticle cast with mount depicting The Rape of Europe, the arched brass dial with moonphase, with C-scrolling symmetrical spandrels, the silvered chapter ring signed Wm Koster Amsterdam, the engraved and matted center with subsidiary seconds ring, sectors for months and days of week and date aperture above VI, the four-pillar brass movement with anchor escapement and Dutch strike on two bells; pendulum, two large brass weights, a small brass weight and winding key
