The present lot is comparable in style and composition to the work of Andrea Della Robbia in #irca 1500, (A. Marquand, Andrea Della Robbia And His Atelier, New York, 1972, I, fig. 237), although a recent thermoluminescence test has established that this is a 19th century cast.
