A triptych of The Virgin and Child with the young Saint John the Baptist; Saint John the Baptist on the left wing; Saint John the Evangelist on the right wing

The anonymous Spanish artist responsible for this work has absorbed both Flemish and Italian Mannerist influences, much like other artists active in southern Spain in the mid to late-sixteenth century, the best known of which is Luis de Morales. This portable triptych is replete with the original marbled finish on the socle and reverse of the wings and a coat-of-arms painted in the tabernacle. The inscription on the frieze appears to indicate the patron's name: 'ORA PRO NOBIS P ANTONI CONFESOR' (Pray for us sinners Antoni Confessor).
