Katayoun Karami always looks for new and sophisticated ways to express herself. With Have a Break, she aims to cross over the traditional boundaries of the medium through the use of experimental methods and by wittily focusing on the issues of the photographic representation. The present work, a self-portrait of the artist set behind a purposely broken glass, delicately reveals her own experience as a young Iranian artist and alludes to the women's social condition in the contemporary world.
