One side well carved in high relief through the red layers with an arrangement of 'antiques,' flowers and fruit reserved on a blackish diaper ground, the reverse with a scene of various immortals and attendants in a mountainous retreat with a large pavilion overlooking a lake where three female attendants are seen in a boat and Liuhai stands on his three-legged toad atop the roiling waves, within a frame carved with composite foliate scroll repeated on the stand around a long panel carved with further foliate scroll centered by a shou medallion on each side, with angular scroll spandrels projecting from the side posts, the aprons carved with bats in flight amidst clouds
