Carved on the front with three reticulated panels, the uppermost depicting a scholar and his attendant beside a deer in a pine grove, the central panel formed by a single shaped reserve, and the lower panel depicting two phoenixes amidst lotus and rockwork, all set within the beaded frame with rounded edges, the tall back panel terminating in a ruyi head carved in openwork, the whole raised on a low platform with shaped, beaded aprons and short tab feet

There does not appear to be any similar published examples to the present container, and it is possible that is unique. It may also be a variation of the touhu vase, meant to catch arrows thrown by participants.
