Meiji period (late 19th century), signed Kyoto ju Komai hajime sei
Inlaid in gilt nunomezogan and hirazogan, silver and shakudo, the doors with the Eight Views of Lake Biwa (Omi hakkei), the outer sides and back with various shaped panels of landscapes and flowers and the top inlaid with floral patterns and medallions of landscapes and birds, the insides of the doors and faces of the the interior drawers with scenery of the famous places in Kyoto, including the Golden Pavilion and Arashiyama, the top surfaces of the drawers inlaid with dense floral scrollwork and the interiors of the drawers gilt; on four bracket feet, signature on the inner lower side of the right door as above (made by Komai of Kyoto)
