"The Moluccan or Salmon-Crested Cockatoo, a resident of Indonesia, gets its name from the beautiful Salmon coloured underfeathers that can be seen when it raises its white crested feathers. Although unable to see these in my painting, I have given the entire painting a salmon coloured hue to give the viewer a feeling for this under-feather colour."
