QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The well potted body with a high shoulder rising to a short waisted neck and lipped rim, the sides moulded with strap handles suspending fixed rings, covered in an attractive, even pale blue glaze suffused with fine crackles

No other jar of this very rare form appears to have been published. Slightly larger Qianlong-marked Ru-type jars of similar form but without strap handles are known. An example was included in the Exhibition of Ch'ing Porcelain from the Wah Kwong Collection, Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1973, Catalogue, no. 16; and another from the T.Y. Chao Collection, sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 19 May 1987, lot 287.
