With broad flat bases and shallow rounded sides rising from slightly splayed feet, covered in a bright lemon-yellow enamel stopping neatly around the feet, the bases glazed white

An identical pair from the E.T. Hall Collection was sold at Christie's London, 7 June 2004, lot 271. Another pair was sold at Christie's Paris, 15 June 2004, lot 191. A single example is illustrated in Chinese Porcelain, The S.C. Ko Tianminlou Collection, Hong Kong, 1987, no. 143.

Compare with another type of Qianlong lemon-yellow enamelled dishes of ogee-form and a slightly larger size (11.5 cm. diam.), and the interior and base covered with a transparent glaze. A pair of this type was sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 27 May 2008, lot 1804.
