Each decorated to the centre with a coat-of-arms in iron-red, blue, green, black, silver and gold including a shield divided in four parts supported by a gold lion to the left and a gold griffin to the right, surmounted by a black rising swan on scrolling leaves, within a floral and spearhead-pattern border, the rim with four flower-sprays, repaired rim chip

The arms are those of the Dutch family De Jonge, who ordered a large dinner service with their coat-of-arms. Several exceptional pieces in this service are known, such as cruets on a stand, candlesticks, oblong salt cellars and monteiths. For a discussion of porcelain with these coat-of-arms see Dr. J.
