The censer with compressed globular body raised on three tall legs attached to the body with gilded monster masks, the body decorated in coloured enamels on a turquoise ground with a wide freize of lotus scroll alternating with blooms emerging from archaistic c-scrolls below a band of pendant lappets at the shoulder, the waisted neck and lower part of the legs similarly decoracted with lotus scroll, the large handles flanking the vessel formed as sinuous dragons emerging from flame scroll, the domed gilt-bronze pierced with band of lotus scroll and bats among clouds below the bulbous finial cast as a coiled dragon, the rim and feet bordered by keyfret
