WINES FROM THE CELLARS OF LAKE PLACID LODGE
Christie's is proud to offer the following x lot from the cellars of Lake Placid Lodge.
Lake Placid Lodge is the only luxury property located on magnificent Lake Placid located only a few hours from New York. Lake Placid Lodge is balanced on the edge of village and forest, a Great Camp for the new century. The Lodge is a celebration of all that was - and remains - best in the Adirondacks. Its beams are hewn by hand, its rooms filled with art and antiques, its beds were carved by local artisans, and its fifty stone fireplaces laid piece-by-piece by Adirondack masons. Built by hand in the "Arts and Crafts" tradition, the Relais & Chteaux property houses 13 rooms and 17 luxurious cabins at the water's edge. Each room has a fireplace at its heart and wilderness visible through its diamond paned windows. The highly acclaimed Artisans Restaurant serves the innovative cuisine of new Executive Chef Nathan Rich, focusing on local organic farmhouse products.
The Lodge recently won a coveted placement on the 2011 Grand Award Winners list within Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report, one of the luxury travel industry's most respected publications. The coveted list is comprised of Mr. Harper's 16 favorite properties visited within the past calendar year. Lake Placid Lodge is one of only four properties in the United States to make the Grand Award Winners list. Along with its place on the winners list, the Lodge additionally received the award for "Most Beautiful Setting."
Wines from this consignment have been stored in Lake Placid Lodge's pristine cellar and removed by a team of Christie's specialists for this sale. The wines on consignment reflect the reputation of the cellar, and include Petrus, Lafite, Dominus, Krug and d'Yquem among others.
In honor of this exciting consignment, Lake Placid is pleased to offer bespoke promotions exclusively for Christie's clients. Awaiting the lucky purchasers of these lots, in addition to well-stored wine in fantastic condition, is a special Winner's Getaway Package. This package include a free third night's stay with the purchse of two night, a private tour on Lake Placid's own "Christies," a 35 ft Mahogany Hackercraft, special food and wine dinners and more.
