Each with a hinged top crossbanded in kingwood and enclosing a later green-baize lined surface resting on hinged gateleg, the interior edges banded in amaranth and strung in boxwood above a satinwood panelled frieze with ebony borders, the square tapering amaranth panelled legs terminating in spade feet, each with the gateleg action replaced

With their 'Etruscan' colouring of golden East Indian satinwood and 'black' ebony borders, these card tables recall the demi-lune commodes at Newby Hall, Yorkshire, which may well have been supplied by Thomas Chippendale the Younger.
