Cf. Gruber, A., Weltiches Silber, Bern, 1977, no. 41 for a similar late 16th Century cup from Sion.
The upper rim is possibly after engravings by Virgil Solis (1514-1562). The silver-gilt band on the base is after Etienne Delaune.
