EARLY 19TH CENTURY, POSSIBLY IRISH, THE TOP REDUCED IN SIZE
The rounded rectangular moulded top above ring-turned gadrooned baluster shafts, on foliate-headed downswept and reeded legs with brass paw feet, the underside of the tops and pedestals numbered '1' to '4', with two associated and one later leaf, the bearers and catch-handles moved

The table's robust urn-shaped pillars are enriched with Pan reed- gadroons, as is the Grecian-scrolled claw. The latter's bacchic lion-paws relate to those of an Irish sideboard-table in Dublin Castle, which bears the trade label of the celebrated Dublin firm of Mack, Williams & Gibton (see A. Alexander, 'A Firm of Dublin Cabinet-Makers: Mack, Williams & Gibton', Irish Arts Review, 1995, p. 147, fig. 13).
