The present commode is almost identical to a commode stamped by Molitor illustrated in U. Leben, Molitor, London, 1992, p180, no 19.
Like the commode illustrated by Ulrich Leben the present lot has a beatifully thought out veneer, which runs continuously from the top to the base and is mirrored through the centre. Both have the same feet on front and back and the same mounts. The commode here is so close that it could be the pair to the one illustrated by Leben. Furthermore, the present commode shows the exemplerary craftsmanship associated with Molitor, both in the carcase construction and the exterior.
