THREE CHELSEA PORCELAIN FLARED CIRCULAR BASKETS
CIRCA 1755, RED ANCHOR MARKS TO EACH, TWO WITH PAINTER'S 6 AND ONE WITH PAINTER'S 3 MARK
Comprising: two large baskets and one small basket, each pierced with interlocking circles and painted to the interior with loose bouquets of pink roses and peony and other flowers, the exteriors moulded with yellow flowerheads, below brown line rims (one large and one small example restored, the other large example with short hairline crack to rim)
The largest 6½ in. (16.5 cm.) diam., the smallest 5¾ in. (14.6 cm.) diam. (3)

Probably acquired by either Georgiana, Countess Spencer (1737-1814) or or Frederick, 4th Earl Spencer, either for Spencer House, London or Althorp House, Northamptonshire, and thence by descent.
