The George to whom this album was given was a security guard employed by the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, Montreal in 1969, to act as bodyguard to John Lennon, Yoko Ono and her daughter Kyoko during their Bed-In For Peace. He worked 12 hour shifts in Suite 1742 for the entire week. On his first day George reported to Derek Taylor who introduced him to the Lennons. According to George, John's requests were ...no drunks or druggies beyond that, have fun.
At the end of the week John Lennon wished to thank George by signing a copy of the new Beatles album Yellow Submarine. This copy, which has a damaged bottom left hand corner, was thrown by John against a wall as he was not happy with the slight smudging of Yoko's name.
