Lobed oval box with baluster sides, the hinged lid with a banded acanthus border and inset with a glazed oval malachite plaque, carved and engraved with an allegory of Day and Night, the cover and sides engine-turned with scrolling foliage strapwork and rocaille, the inset base similarly decorated and centred by a chased bouquet, all panels framed with flutes
