A VERY RARE SMALL CELADON-GLAZED WATERPOT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

Of globular form with a short foot and slightly everted mouth rim, incised with two sinuous chilong amongst lingzhi and scrolling foliage, covered overall in an even pale celadon glaze, the base with a spurious six-character Xuande mark in underglaze-blue

A similarly shaped waterpot dating to the the Kangxi period in a white glaze, from the Collection of Evelyn Annenberg Hall was sold at Christie's New York, 29 March 2006, lot 125.
