The spreading pediment surmounted by a wave-pierced gallery above a rose-guilloche frieze and two garland hung glazed doors, the inside of one with a brass plaquette engraved 'VTOR RAULIN/226 Bd Sd Germain', the mirrored interior fitted with two shelves, the base with two parquetry panelled doors enclosing a single shelf, on toupie feet, the back stamped 'RAULIN'

In 1878, Victor Raulin succeeded to his father's business, specialising in marquetry and lacquer furniture in the 18th century taste. He exhibited at the Paris 1878 and 1889 Expositions Universelles and was awarded medals for his entries.
