Circular nickel-finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, black matte dial, applied gilt and green enamel Roman numerals, inner applied gilt and green enamel chapter ring for the five minute divisions, gilt and green bamboo-style hands, heavy square black lacquered case, silver gilt framed jade bezel, movement wound and hands set by means of a sliding cylindrical tube in the band, back secured by eleven screws, rectangular hinged gilt frame, case and hinge numbered with Cartier reference numbers, inner case signed EWC, dial signed Cartier, movement signed EWC

With Cartier original fitted red presentation box with hinged stand to the back.

The present clock is a superb example for one of Cartier's outstanding Art Deco designs, combining the sober elegance of the clear-cut black case with gold and green tones, paying tribute to famous Chinese style elements: jade, considered the most noble of all gems in the Chinese empire and symbolizing beauty, grace and purity, and bamboo, the Chinese symbol for longevity.

This stylish timepiece, standing out by its unusually large size, is furthermore preserved in excellent overall condition, the rarity enhanced by the presence of the Cartier Paris original presentation box.
