Arabic manuscript on paper, 331ff. plus 4 fly-leaves, each folio with 15ll. of black naskh, gold rosettes between verses, text panels within gold and blue rules and margins, catchwords, sura headings in white naskh on gold ground within panels of polychrome floral illumination, polychrome illuminated marginal medallions marking each juz' and sajda, hizb markers in gold thuluth, opening bifolio with sura al-fatiha and the beginning of sura al-baqara framed with gold and polychrome illumination, colophon giving name of scribe and date of Ramadan 1781 and stating that it was copied as a commission for Ahmad Efendi bin Ibrahim al-Baljiqi, very minor areas of smudging and staining, in original green morocco with flap and gilt stamped medallions and spandrels, with associated brown morocco slip case
