John Afflick trained at the John Moores University and served in the British Army (1990-93). He was shortlisted for 'Not the Turner Prize', Mall Galleries, London (2004) and also for 'The Football Prize', The Lowry, Manchester (2006). He was recently commissioned to paint an altar panel for The Church of the Holy Innocents, Hammersmith. Afflick often depicts his family in his paintings.
