QIANLONG PERIOD, INCISED WITH CYCLICAL DATE, GENG YIN, CORRESPONDING TO 1770, AND OF THE PERIOD
Seated in dhyanasana on a rectangular plinth, the front draped in a long cloth with a flower head at its center, the figure with hands in dhyana mudra and dressed in robes draped over the left shoulder leaving the right exposed and wearing a jewelled necklace, the face with pensive expression beneath an elaborate tiered crown partially obscuring the hair which is pulled up into an elaborate coiffure; together with a Nepalese gilt and painted copper repoussé mandorla, 19th century, decorated with elephants, animals and riders atop lotus blossoms beneath an image of Garuda at the top
