17th Century, only struck with Dutch duty mark (a dolphin), 1859-1893 and Dutch alloy mark ZII
The circular box on three ball feet, the body engraved with a river, on its left bank a castle with a lady standing in the doorway, on the right bank a church with a lady and a gentleman in front, a merry company in between the castle and the church, the base engraved to the central roundel with Christ blessing a couple, surrounded by the text 'dat god toe saemen voecht dat coonen gheen menschen scheiden', the detachable domed cover embossed with three cartouches depicting Faith, Hope and Love, surmounted by a pierced finial
