Note:
Li Zhun (1928-2000) was a native of Luoyang, Henan province. Li apprenticed at a shop in Luoyang in the Spring of 1943, and devoted his spare time to reading foreign novels by Ivan Turgenev, Charles Dickens and Honore de Balzac to name but a few. Li later took part in an amateur drama company - the exposure to Chinese opera and traditional plays gave Li a deeper insight into the different aspects of society. In 1960 Li published his seminal novel The Legends of Li Shuang Shuang, which was later turned into the well-known movie Li Shuang Shuang.
