The top and sides finely painted in the style of J.G. Höroldt with Chinoiserie vignettes of court figures at leisure pursuits likely based on drawings from the Schulz Codex and supported on gilt strapwork brackets enriched in black, the bottom similarly painted in Purpurmalerei within a gilt vine surround, the interior of the cover edge-to-edge with figures making and taking tea beneath a pink drapery swag
