The bronze statue of a dancing faun is what gives the House of the Faun at Pompeii its name and it is located where it would have been seen by people peering in the main doorway of the House of the Faun.
The statue at the House of the Faun ruins is a copy, the original is in the Archaeological Museum of Naples.

A. Rolland was the successor of Boyer and Rolland and was established 10 and 12 Rue de Asile-Popincourt where he produced reductions of antique statues. In 1884, he casted the large group Rhinocéros attaqué par des tigres by the sculptor Auguste Cain which was placed in the gardens of the Tuileries.
