Compare the very similar bottle and cover with carved decoration under the glaze included in the exhibition, Song Ceramics from the Kwan Collection, Hong Kong Museum of Art, 22 July - 11 September 1994, no. 105. See, also, the similar qingbai bottle and cover, without decoration, illustrated by R. Krahl, Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, vol. 3 (II), London, 2006, no. 1590. The collection also includes two other bottles of this rare shape in different wares; one, brown 'Ding', no. 1439, the other carved Yaozhou celadon, no. 1489, also with a cover. Both are dated Northern Song or Jin dynasty. A Yue ware example, without a cover, dated Tang/Five Dynasties is illustrated in In Pursuit of Antiquities, Min Chiu Society, Hong Kong Museum of Art, 22 December 1995 - 18 February 1996, no. 79.
