Each finely and realistically carved in high relief on one side as a convex section of bamboo with insect-nibbled leaves, the reverse carved as the inside of the stalk divided into two concave sections by the node, the sections carved in high relief with various insects including a grasshopper, lady bug and cicada in one weight, and a dragon fly, lady bug and beetle in the other, the insects highlighted with staining
