Well carved as two hollow lotus pods, each with a comma-shaped opening in the realistically carved top, with a lotus bud at one end and a lotus leaf to the side which is carved from the black-speckled area of the otherwise pale greenish-white stone, all borne on ribbon-tied stems that form the base
