Usually painted with a floral decoration, the decoration with a hare is rare on Cizhou dishes. A slightly smaller example is in the Tokyo National Museum. The dish in the museum is also incised with the date 1269. See M. Tregear, La Céramique Song, Fribourg, 1982, p. 96, no. 83.
