Modelled as the "pelican in her piety", the pelican set with a central cabochon ruby, the body with white enamel detail mounted within a horseshoe shaped frame with table-cut diamond and foiled ruby single stone flowerheads with enamel petals, the base set in the centre with a single foiled cabochon sapphire surrounded by enamel foliate detail suspending three pearl drops, circa 1880, late mounted as a clip
