Of rectangular form, the bole-red ground with a complex design of repeating interlacing arabesques composed of Chinese cloud-bands with black outlines, the interstices in turquoise, a narrow turquoise border above and below, very minor chipping in the glaze

Border tiles with an identical design are found on a porch of the tomb of Murad III (d. 1595) although there the trefoil shapes enclosed in the Chinese clouds are alternatively coloured with cobalt-blue and turquoise blue (W. Denny, Gardens of Paradise, Istanbul, 1998, p. 115).
