The case with brass handle to repoussé brass double basket top, glazed side panels, gilt-brass frets to the front door and with gilt-brass mounts to the side rails, the rear door with further conforming mounts, on later brass bracket feet, the 7in. wide brass dial with crown and coronet spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour and cross half quarter hour markers, signed Wm King Birchin/LANE LONDON, the matted centre with mock pendulum aperture and date square, blued steel hands, the arch with engraved border and silvered plaque engraved with a scene of Jesus upon the Cross and Mary looking on, later hour and quarter strike/silent levers, the triple line and fusee movement with seven ringed pillars, restored verge escapement, inside countwheel hour strike on later bell and front-mounted countwheel quarter chimes on a nest of six later bells, the back plate with later foliate pierced and engraved apron, engraved border and foliate scrolls, under dial work with restorations and adaptations; later pendulum, winding key, case key
