Shaped-cylindrical, with twisted neck, the foot applied with a copper bug, the body with hammered surface, the lower body engraved with parcel-gilt lozenge leaf band, the elongated neck applied with a parcel-gilt dandelion and a copper beetle with gold stripes, the shoulder with pierced geometric border and undulating everted rim, marked under base, also marked 5586/912

John Loring attributes this vase to Charles Osborne based on the characteristic spiralling movement, both in the very creative twisting of the neck of the vase, and in the sweep of the chrysanthemum. Osborne's floral elements are generally vigorously modeled.
